Check out the Pro’s Picks and the Best Ford in a Ford award from the NSRA Southwest Nationals
The National Street Rod Association and Ford Performance select a special award, the Best Ford in a Ford, at each of their 10 events throughout the year. During their recent Southwest Nationals in Oklahoma City, the sought after blue oval award went to Kathy and Jimmy Garrett of Carrolton, Mississippi for their ’69 Mustang.
As you can tell, there’s a rather unique and large Ford powerplant under the Mustang’s hood. In fact, it’s a 429 Boss based engine, which was only available in the ’60-’70 Mustang. This was in part so Ford could get the 429 into NASCAR. The Carrolton’s 429 is packing over 500c.i. and a lot more power!
Another coveted award at each NSRA event is the Pro’s Pick, sponsored by Classic Instruments. During the Southwest Nationals, the following five rods were awarded the Pro’s Pick – congrats to everyone!
