NSRA Nationals South Awards

Kurt and Nancy Richter, 1941 Willys

Some well deserved awards were handed out during the NSRA Nationals South – congrats to everyone!

The National Street Rod Association held their Nationals South event recently at the Chilhowee Park & Expo Center in Knoxville, Tennesee. It was a great turnout that started with a kick-off party at Lokar on Thursday afternoon, followed by a weekend packed with the best street rods, muscle cars and customs.

During every NSRA National event, there are a number of special awards presented. One of the most popular is the Pro’s Picks, presented by Classic Instruments. To earn a Pro’s Pick award, you need to park in the designated special area where ‘judges, whom could be anyone from builders to other manufacturers or even editors, decide which cars are their favorite. No judging forms or points, just pure ‘yea, I like this one’! Contrats to the winners:

Larry & Robbie Griffey – Powell, TN – 1954 Corvette
Steve Hines – Dandridge, TN – 1953 Cadillac
Kurt & Nancy Richter – Aviston, IL – 1941 Willys
James & Sadie Clifton – Powell, TN – 1968 Camaro
Paul & Sharon Puleo – Lutz, FL – 1932 Ford

Next up is the NSRA’s Outstanding Use of Color” award  One winner was beautiful 1948 Chevrolet Suburban shown by Terry & Dick Feile from Mooresville, North Carolina. The second car was a unique color combination on a slick 1950 Ford of Dale and Jackie Dinse.

The team at Fuel Air Spark Technology, usually referred to as FAST, presents their Revolution Award to a vehicle that embraces modern technology. The award went to 934 Nash owned by Billy Dawson from Dallas, North Carolina.

And finally, the Best Ford in a Ford went to Chris & Steve Donaldson with their stunning 1976 F-100 powered by a highly detailed Mod Motor. The big engine looked right at home under the hood of the pickup!
