The Rod and Custom Group Reaches to their Roots and Plans to Build at ’32 Highboy for 2016!
Each year, the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association gives away an incredible car during their PPG Nationals held in Columbus, Ohio. The 2015 grand prize is an amazing ’70 C10 custom pickup that has been modified to the hilt! You can see this truck at most of their events through the season and of course on their website.
For 2016, Goodguys is going back to their roots with a ’32 Ford roadster. “We wanted to do something timeless and traditional,” said Ed Capen of Goodguys. “We’ve done some spectacular muscle cars and trucks in the past few years, so we wanted to reach back into the roots of hot rodding and create a bitchin’ deuce roadster.”
Mike Goldman Customs of Meridian, Mississippi will steward the build based on a Brookville Roadster-bodied on a TCI Chassis with a 4” dropped axle and 4-link rear. Get-up and go will be provided by an Edelbrock Performer 310 Triple Deuce crate engine. It will be cloaked in PPG white with red & black graphics and white steel wheels.
The ’32 will debut at the 18th PPG Nationals July 10-12, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio, during the awards celebration and the grand prize drawing for the C10. To be eligible to win either cool ride, you’ll need to be an event participant, current member or register online at Goodguys.
